Face aux murs
“Face aux murs” plunges us into the heart of an inner revolt, recounting those moments of vertigo and doubt that we can experience when faced with others, or sometimes with ourselves. It's an optimistic tale of man's capacity to adapt, to surpass himself, to start again and reinvent himself. Six acrobats meet on a large Plexiglas wall surrounded by two trampolines. Sometimes witnessing, sometimes acting out their desires and doubts, this small humanity sets out to discover its shadows and buried courage. On a mobile set that can be transformed at will, the universes shift in unexpected ways. Beyond the graphic aspect of this acrobatic scenography, we plunge into the intimacy of a multi-faceted character... Falls and flights become metaphors for a world to which we have to adapt, and how to form a group when exclusion has become the rule. This play reveals a fragmented history in which the human body becomes a space of freedom where the will to resist, collapse and resilience are balanced, and where the relationship with others is often the only comfort against the call of the void.

Hors Surface is a company based in Toulon (83) which, for the past 14 years, has championed a new, multi-faceted circus of the highest acrobatic standards. Poetic and visual, this company, led by Damien DROIN, develops extraordinary scenography and claims a unique language between original musical composition and high-flying choreography. Damien creates imaginary universes, mental spaces and parallel worlds that draw their strength from reality.
Our artistic line: questioning the changing space and our relationship with reality. A multi-faceted circus that draws its originality from the creation of imaginary worlds.
The company is pursuing its search for an original artistic language in which the question of movement interrogates that of space. Damien is passionate about stage design, and it was during his studies at the CNAC that he invented the Acronet: a 60 m2 stretched canvas made from a fishing net, used as a trampoline. This new piece of equipment has since been reworked and evolves in each of the company's new shows.
