Reclaim
RECLAIM is not a show, but a collective experience inspired by the Ko'ch ritual in Central Asia, where nearly three-quarters of shamans are women.
RECLAIM is an imaginary ritual freely inspired by the Ko'ch in Central Asia, where women attempt to build an egalitarian relationship with men, with the aim of creating a fairer world for future generations. What is proposed here is not a show, but a collective experience. This project is seen as a necessity, a form of secular prayer. An extraordinary moment to be experienced as a return to the circus of its origins, characterized by wildness, circles, strangeness, sometimes monstrosity, hyper proximity and fear. A lyric singer, two cellists and five circus performers in acrobatic lifts are literally encircled by the stands and spectators, in a disquieting proximity.
RECLAIM is an act of resistance, which means being able to reclaim and reappropriate what you've been separated from.

Since its foundation in 1994 by Patrick Masset, the Théâtre d'Un Jour has distinguished itself by its artistic diversity, moving from theater to circus while exploring socially relevant subjects. Notable productions such as “Du Vent... Des fantômes...” in 2000 and “L'Enfant qui...” in 2008 have made their mark on the international scene. The company has also broken new ground with projects such as “Les Inouis” in 2015, in response to the refugee crisis. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, T1J has continued to create, notably with “TINA”, a transdisciplinary musical tragedy addressing the need for change.
