On July 17, 2024 at 10 p.m., the Festival Vaison Danses will have the honor of hosting the world premiere of "Kintsugi", a breathtaking show by renowned Quebec company Machine de Cirque. This event will be a highlight of the summer season, bringing together dance enthusiasts and lovers of innovative shows in the enchanting setting of Vaison-la-Romaine.

"Kintsugi" takes its name from the ancient Japanese art of repairing ceramic objects with gold, highlighting their cracks rather than concealing them. This philosophy finds deep resonance in the creation of Machine de Cirque, where every imperfection becomes an integral part of the work's beauty and history.

In this show, the company explores themes of resilience, transformation and rebirth. Through high-flying performances, "Kintsugi" invites us to contemplate the beauty of human fragility, where every movement is a metaphor for self-acceptance and the celebration of differences.

Founded in 2013 in Quebec City, Machine de Cirque has quickly established itself as a major player in contemporary circus. Combining tradition and modernity, its creations are recognized for their inventiveness, poetry and ability to push back the boundaries of the possible. 

The company has already won over audiences the world over with shows such as "Machine de Cirque", "Robot Infidèle" and "La Galerie". 

The Vaison Danses Festival is a cultural event that attracts spectators from the four corners of the globe every year. Set in the historic setting of Vaison-la-Romaine, the festival offers an eclectic program featuring internationally renowned dance and circus companies.
