The Biennale Internationale des Arts du Cirque (BIAC) returns in 2025 to celebrate the circus in all its forms through innovative and captivating shows. Three outstanding creations will be presented at this flagship event in Marseille and throughout the region. Not to be missed!
Yongoyely - Circus Baobab
Friday January 10 and Saturday January 11, 2025 - Marseille (13), Friche la Belle de Mai
Inspired by the story of M'Balia Camara, an emblematic figure in the struggle for independence in Guinea, Yongoyely questions the contemporary struggles of African women for emancipation. On stage, 6 women and 3 men deploy a striking energy through a pared-down scenography and traditional Guinean apparatus: tree trunks, whips and headstands. This powerful show blends strength, tradition and modernity to tell the story of the struggles and hopes of a united humanity.
Heka - Gandini Juggling
Monday January 20 to Saturday January 25, 2025:
January 20-21: Aix-en-Provence (13), Théâtre du Bois de l'Aune
January 22: Port-de-Bouc (13), Théâtre Sémaphore
January 24-25: Le Revest-les-Eaux (83), Le Pôle
In collaboration with French magician Yann Frisch, Heka transcends the traditional codes of magic to offer a show in which juggling and illusion are combined to perfection. Objects appear, disappear, float and transform before the audience's very eyes in a striking visual choreography. A spellbinding work that blurs the boundaries between the real and the imaginary.
Face aux murs - Compagnie Hors Surface
Thursday, January 23, 2025 - Martigues (13), Théâtre des Salins, scène nationale de Martigues
Sunday, February 02, 2025 - Grasse (06), Théâtre de Grasse
In a mobile set consisting of a Plexiglas wall and two trampolines, Face aux murs explores the vertigo of the human soul in the face of oneself and others. Performed by six acrobats, this poetic, physical piece tells a tale of resistance, collapse and solidarity. Between acrobatic flights and intimate reflections, the show invites us to overcome barriers, confront our doubts and reinvent balance.
